What is DSC Loyola?

Together, we learn in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for the community.

What is Playground?

The program is a startup generation program and incubator, engineered to equip individuals with the skills necessary to identify a problem, ideate a technological solution, and found a startup that realizes that solution. Participants will form teams (i.e., companies) and will be given exclusive access to both synchronous and asynchronous resources to better prepare them for the culminating event of Playground. At the end of the event, all companies will present their minimum viable product to a panel of mentors consisting of esteemed professionals from various technological fields.

Playground is a startup generation program and incubator. Playground teams (known as Companies) will receive the opportunity to take up their ideas with not only Ateneo de Manila University’s Hub Genesis, but with national incubators across the Philippines.

The Playground has partnered with startup incubators within the Philippines. After the Demo Day, the Playground Companies may be invited to those startup incubators to continue their startup.

Kindly note that all startups with majority Atenean students are eligible to join Hub Genesis, which is a Atenean student-led startup generation and development organization.

Not at all. Startups require individuals with various skill sets to succeed. Team formation is part of the event and will be fully facilitated by Developer Student Clubs Loyola. Belief in yourself and what you can offer to your potential co-founders is enough.

Team formation will be by participant's choice. The program has allocated a few days for networking among the participants and to get to know who can be your potential co-founders in your soon-to-be-birthed startup.

Each team is required to submit their formation by the deadline (TBA internally in our Discord, as well as all relevant channels). Each team is required to have a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will have duties such as updating the project team regarding the Company's progress.

For the rest of the team, there are no requirements. However, we do recommend having a designer, a front-end developer, and a back-end developer.

Bigger events such as the Assembly Kickoff, Demo Day, and Awarding Ceremony will be held on Zoom.

Smaller events such as the talks, workshops, and internal work sessions will be held on the virtual workspace a.k.a. Discord.
